Just Laugh About It

Today was one of those days when every little thing goes wrong, but no matter what happens you still have a smile on your face and can laugh about it. I think I am really starting to become more happy. I am taking the tips I have been reading in Blissology and using them to my benefit. I envision everything going smoothly as I have planned and it seems to work out, but even if it doesn't go as planned I am okay with it.
Today, it was Kaia's excitement and colorful imagination as she retold stories from the pictures in her library books. It was getting a 26 point word on Word Feud. It was making plans for a weekend dinner date. It was talking to myself enthusiastically for three hours while attempting to record a self-interview for Desktop Video. It was getting a small photography assignment in one of my classes and getting an excuse to go take some photographs this weekend.

When life gets stressful...

Sometimes it's alright to procrastinate.

Saturday, it was enjoying a delicious home-cooked breakfast of bacon and french toast. It was spending time with my roomie's adorable little baby cousin. It was laughing all night with drunken friends.

Sunday, it was trying a few new machines in the wellness center with my roomie, the fish game on the row machine was the best. We laughed so hard that we got a double ab workout. It was baking in the house for the first time, the delicious smell of chocolate and white cupcakes filled the entire house. We baked two boxes, so I would have plenty to share with friends. It was spending the night with a friend, making a wish and blowing the candle out at midnight.

Monday, it was waking up feeling great. It was taking some much needed time to get some homework done. It was reading Blissology and soaking in all the happiness. It was getting a new car just for the day of my birthday. It was bringing cupcakes to a new friend and making another. It was celebrating the night of my birthday with a friend - laughing, reading the Qua-ran, learning a few words in Bangla "Ki Khobor" It was receiving a phone call from my dad on my birthday!

Today, it was coming home to my phone after stressing out all night that I had lost it. It was recording a short sequence in Desktop Video. It was talking to a new friend. After a stressful day and night, it was laughing about everything.

Nothing's better than a day laughing with family

Saturday...

Today was an amazing day. My brother, sister, brother-in-law, and I spent the day laughing and screaming our heads off at Valley Fair. On days when you can't stop smiling it's sometimes hard to pick out the specific little things that made you smile, but there was one little moment that stuck out from the rest.

We were sitting on some stones eating our dippin dots, when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I turned to see what it was and this adorable little chipmunk was standing about a foot from me. My face lit up and I immediately grabbed the camera. We snapped about six pictures of the little guy, before he got scared and scurried away. To my surprise, he came back three or four more times and I was able to snap a few more pics.

Let all the little things lift you up when you're down

Monday...

Some days life gets a bit crazy and stressful. Someone will say something that hits you hard and knocks you off your feet for awhile, but if you wait long enough the littlest thing will make you smile and help you get back up on your feet.

Today, it was running around the track listening to my iPod and suddenly hearing the familiar, comforting voice of my dad. Although we have a strange almost non-existent relationship, whenever I hear his music I feel this very deep connection with him that always warms my heart and makes me smile.

Tuesday...

Today, it was finding out my best friend is possibly going to be visiting me for Labor Day weekend. It was having a private concert performance of Bleeding Love - Leona Lewis by two beautiful, talented and creative girls. It was sitting on my bed with two old friends just talking about anything. My wonderful attempt to paint an abstract master-piece on a small canvas for my bedroom wall.

Wednesday...

It's great to have a day when everything goes just wonderfully. On days like today, I just can't stop smiling.

Today was filled with silly little things that made me smile. Laughing on the floor in the wellness center with my roomie when she got a crazy cramp in her leg. Meeting new people while visiting my friend in her new dorm room. Talking with my boss. It was losing an intense hula hoop competition with a six year old. It was finally being able to share my new happiness with my best friend.

Breathe in the fresh air

When I start my day early, I have more time to enjoy all the silly little things before the start of all the commotion that comes with each passing day. It's great to start the day off right by taking some time to enjoy the simple things in life...the rising sun, the beautiful trees, the fresh air, the busy squirrels,... When I just stop and take a moment to absorb everything, I begin to recognize all the little things that make my world go around and I can appreciate and cherish all the little things that much more.

Today, it was breathing in the fresh air on my early morning run. The sun peaking through the leaves as it slowly rose above the tree line. It was all the little critters running across my path. It was listening to Year 3000 - Jonas Brothers and thinking about what it would be like to live under water. It was the sense of accomplish I felt after working out.

Splash away the worries

At times we get so caught up in worrying about the past or the future, it is then that all the silly little things matter the most. They wake us up, bring us back to the present, and put a smile on our faces. For a minute, we forget about the bills, the messy house, the homework,... For a minute, all the worries fade away.

Today, it was the kids splashing in the pool, beaming with excitement. With every little giggle, a bigger smile filled my face. With every minute, I felt my eyes sparkle a little more.
